Celebrating over 30 Years!
The Antique Shoppe Newspaper is now over 30 years old! The newspaper has evolved with the antique industry in Florida and the Southeast.
The first issue was 12 pages and published 6 featured six display advertisers. Our page layout and content has continually changed over the 30 years of experience. The first issued used one color on 4 pages, we now use up to 30 pages per issue of process color. Initially it took a fax machine and one small computer to generate the publication. Flats (pages) were prepared and driven to the printer to be copied and printed. Today, we use 2 MacIntosh computers and 3 PC's and send the paper electronically to the printer for production. We've evolved with this business and have responded to the changes of the dealers and our readers. We have seen many changes in our industry over the years; the change from small independently owned shops to large multi-dealer malls, reproductions, hurricanes, increasing fuel prices, ebay and so much more...
We have tried to educate and inform our readers in this ever-changing business. Our mission statement is "to provide timely information about antiques and collectibles and to generate business for our customers." and that remains our focus today!
For all of you who have been with us since the beginning, we would like to say a very special "Thank You." Those first year advertisers include Renninger's Extravaganzas, Heritage Antiques, Professional Appraisers and Liquidators, Sanlando Depression Glass Show, Central Florida Antique Market, Picadilly Antique Fairs, Miami Beach Antique Show and the Inverness Antique Show. These businesses are still with us today. Many have changed ownership or their names but currently still support our publication and we say "Thanks".
And to those who have joined us somewhere along the road, we would like to say thanks for making us part of your life. We hope you are still a part of our family 28 years from now.Watch For Anniversary Features Appearing Throughout The Coming Year!
