Play It Again..Old Sheet Music Hath Charms...by Carol J. Perry
Back before there was radio and television, America was a nation of singers. There was a piano in virtually every parlor, and the "evening song-fest" was a regular occurrence. With all that singing going on, there was an enormous demand for both pianos and easy-to-read printed song sheets for the pianists.

THE ANTIQUE DETECTIVE
Humble Glass Food Containers

Collectors have long loved the look of glass food and beverage bottles and jars, old and not so old. Now is the time for beginning collectors to look for the many examples of interesting packaging now on the market. One example that caught my eye was the Arizona diet, green tea ,bottle with a colorful Geisha girl motif. Not too long ago 20th century milk bottles were thrown away. Now, collectors search for them and prices keep going up.

Geology is the history of the Earth as recorded in rocks and professional geologists have a concept called "ground truth." In geology it appears that no matter how much you study in the classroom, no matter how many lectures you attend, no matter how many samples you handle and how many photographs you absorb, nothing gets you closer to the truth about rocks than actually being there - on the ground - on the rocks.

Fishing Tales....by Judy Penz Sheluk
The one thing every fisherman has in common is their stories. Memories of the one that got away are the stuff of legends, and infinitely more interesting than the ones that actually made into the net. So it comes as no surprise that the invention of the fishing lure has the same legendary appeal.

Crazy Over Shirley Temple Collectibles....by Roy Nuhn
In an era when modern sci-fi and supernatural movies seem to hold most moviegoers' attention, it is a bit difficult to know that at one time, during the Great Depression years of the 1930s, that a dog and a little girl kept America smiling. The dog was Rin-Tin-Tin and the girl, a little moppet named Shirley Temple. She had millions of fans and ever since tens of thousands of people have enthusiastically and, with great enjoyment, collected anything and everything ever associated with the nation's "Little Princess".

Q. I am restoring a tea cart given to me by my grandmother. It has seen some big miles around her house over the years and the rubber tires on the wheels are absolutely gone. Its just running on the rims. I can't seem to find ones that will fit. Any ideas?

Meerschaum A Gift From The Sea....by Maureen Timm
Meerschaum, literally translated from German means "sea foam." This name reflects its characteristics of lightness in weight and whiteness in color. It is one of the most porous substances found in nature, will not bum out, and is considered by pipe smokers as the perfect material for a cool, dry smoke.
