Easter Greetings: Bunnies and Other Collectibles of the Season.. by: Robert
Reed
While
Easter has been an ever-welcome sign of spring for a long time, over the past
100 years it has also left a happy trail of widely assorted collectibles. The
holiday itself has been observed worldwide for thousands of years, but it
was not seen as a significant commercial event in America until the second
half of the 19th century.

marble top furniture and I need to know how to care for it.

it clean. Periodic washing with a very mild detergent and warm
water should be part of the regular routine.

THE ANTIQUE DETECTIVE
Architectural Artifacts Salvage
History
When most people think of Bohemian glass (now Czechoslovakia) from the
18th to early 20th century, it the ruby red color with etched deer and
castles, that most comes to mind. Yet, many colors and techniques were used
to create what is considered some of the most beautiful glass in the world.
Even these days you see new examples of cased or overlay and color-stained
glass described as in the “Bohemian style.”

WRITE THE AD RIGHT..Sell The Piece
Do you have some antique furniture you would like to or need
to sell? How do you go about it? One way is to take good
photos, write a good description of whatever you want to sell
and visit some local dealers of like objects to see if they
are interested. They may or may not be and they may buy it
outright or simply take it on consignment for a given period
and charge you a consignment fee. |

Bring the Magic of Ireland
Into Your Home .. by Maureen Timm
Most of us are
familiar with Belleek, a thin, ivory-colored, almost-iridescent porcelain. The
shamrock pattern is most familiar, but many patterns were made, including
Limpet, Tridacna, and Grasses. Belleek Porcelain was first made in 1857 in
County Fermanagh, Ireland. Production continued until World War I, was
discontinued for a period of time, and then resumed. |
